Since I had gone to the High Tech schools before I had two previous experiences with exhibition night. I had been looking forward to this Exhibition night in particular because it was my first one in high school. Unfortunately, it wasn't as enjoyable as I had imagined it to be. I expected more people to come, but the slow flow of people coming in slowed down my excitement. While working on the Math/Science part of the room on my first shift, my partner and I did a good job engaging our viewers into the conversation. We used our materials as examples instead of just letting them sit there which provided a hands on understanding for everyone. The hardest encounter for me wasn't actually on exhibition night. It was when our peers came in and questioned us. Since they already knew the content they threw upon us the hardest questions. On the Humanities side, I don't think we performed as well as we could have. Although we had music to draw people in, many people seemed confused by our story. It was difficult to describe where we got the inspiration for our story from because it just came to our minds suddenly. It would have been better if we had provided more examples of how our story was going to turn out. Although we had an amazing story that we had written, my partner and I should have shared how enthusiastic we were about our story to the people around us. That way, people would have been more drawn to our work area. Overall, I performed fairly well and I will take this experience and use it to my advantage in my future years at High Tech High.
